Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) is a disability insurance program. In order to qualify for benefits, you must have serious medical problems or injuries that prevent you from working, and you must have paid enough taxes into Social Security to be insured or have enough credits to be eligible to get Social Security. These taxes are simply an insurance premium that protects you in the event that a disability prevents you from working for at least 12 months in a row.

There are many issues that our firm handles that are closely related to SSD claims. These include:

How Much Will I Owe For Fees And Costs?

Our fee is limited to no more than 25 percent of the past-due benefits you receive. Often, our fee is less than 25 percent of your back-due benefits because many cases involve a cap or limit on our fee that is approved by Social Security. We provide all clients a copy of our fee agreement for their records. If there are exceptions to our standard fee agreement, we will fully discuss any changes with you before we start representing you.

Costs are limited to out-of-pocket expenses for medical records, reports, specialist examinations and, in very few cases, court costs. In most Social Security claims, there are no costs, or the costs are very minimal. All costs are the responsibility of the client and are in addition to the fees due.

At Manring & Farrell, if we learn there are costs involved in your claim, we will discuss that with you before we spend any money. Decisions about spending money are made by you. We will give you our advice about whether an expense is really necessary.
